Our Story
Trent, a Pittsburgh native, discovered his passion for construction at an early age—helping his grandfather renovate historic homes in the city’s North Side neighborhood. After college, he spent several years honing his skills on commercial and residential projects throughout the region. Brenda, originally from a neighboring suburb, developed an eye for interior design and project management through her work at a boutique architectural firm. When their paths crossed, they quickly realized they shared a vision: to build homes that were not only beautiful and functional, but also felt like the perfect fit for the families who lived in them.
In 2010, they combined their talents to establish Keystone Contracting Group. Their goal was simple: make the building experience enjoyable and rewarding for every client—just as they had always hoped it could be.

With over 15 years of hands-on construction experience, Trent oversees each project’s structural integrity and on-site management. He’s known for his knack for problem-solving and his dedication to educating clients about the building process. When he’s not on the job site, you can find Trent coaching little league baseball or volunteering with local Habitat for Humanity projects. - Brenda Cushing, Co-Founder & Design Director
Brenda brings an artistic eye and impeccable organizational skills to every project. She specializes in balancing form and function, ensuring each space is as practical as it is beautiful. Her passion for interior design shines through in every detail—from lighting choices to color palettes. Outside of work, Brenda enjoys mentoring young designers through a local trade school and gardening with her two energetic kids.
